VVAF School Redevelopment program aids in the construction and improvement of schools and their facilities. VVAF has provided new infrastructure as well as provided schoolbags and supplies to students and teachers, improving the learning environment. VVAF has also sponsored scholarships and provided tuition and health insurance assistance for the children of veterans attending the Hanoi College of Technology and Business Administration. In addition, VVAF helped support English clubs and provided technological assistance to Hanoi College of Technology and Business Administration.
On May 13th 2010, VVAF completed construction of ten new classrooms for the Hai Hung School in the Hai Hung Commune of the Nam Dinh Province. The school, established before 1954, previously had six classrooms built in 1972; five extra classrooms were added in 1992. However, the school was in poor condition because of recent harsh typhoons. The ten new classrooms in 2010 will create a richer environment for teachers and children at school and will improve the quality of teaching and learning.
In May 2010, VVAF dedicated a new building for the No.3 Primary School, Muong-Phang Commune, in the Dien Bien district. The project was funded by a grant provided by Boeing. Muong phang Commune is home to many students from ethnic minorities. The project consisted of building a new facility at the school as well as upgrading the current infrastructure at the school.
VVAF, continuing its goal of improving schools and education in Vietnam, continued to work on a kindergarten in A-Luoi, located in Thua Thien-Hue Province. The province, which borders Laos, is home to the Ta-Oi minority. The project, like other construction efforts undertaken by VVAF, has been funded by Boeing.
